About.

Jonathan “Stot Juru” Jones has started his love of music when he was in the 3rd grade. He started playing the violin, cello, and viola in the 5th grade up until the 8th grade when his favorite Orchestra teacher no longer worked at the school. His big brother Joshua Jones played the saxophone in high school and stopped playing, because he got bored with it. So Stot decided to pick up the saxophone off the closet shelf while cleaning his room one day and decided to toy with it. The next day in school he switched his class from orchestra to band. He started playing the saxophone in November of 2003. Within 2 months he made 4th chair in District honors band out of all the sax players in the district. He played in his 1st wedding when he was in the 9th grade. After that he kept on practicing and teaching himself what he know today.
Stot Juru became a music producer in the 9th grade also. He continued to play the sax and make music in high school(C.A.Johnson High School). He was on the marching band for the 1st and 2nd year in high school. He was featured as a soloist on some of the field shows. In his 11th grade year there was no band director. He had no one to lead him in a right direction so he had to teach himself advance techniques and etc.
When it came to his 1st year at University of South Carolina, He tried out for the USC School of Music…..but later in the mail he received the letter saying that he was REJECTED from the school of music. That really hurt his feelings, so this is the moment in his life when he stopped playing the sax for about 2 years. When it came to 2011 he started to see how people were doing videos on YouTube, so he decided to pick up his sax and fall in love with it again. One of his videos then made it on WorldStarHipHop website, which started to give him a lot of traffic, the feedback was motivation. It was at this point where it was no turning back.

Stot Juru opened for artist such as Wale, Marsha Ambrosius, Eric Robertson, Kirk Whalum, Lalah Hathaway, The Mad Violinist, Terence Young, and more.

The name “Stot Juru” was given to him by his creative, innovative brother Joshua Caleb(godnup). “Stot” comes from the great philosopher Aristotle, and “Juru” comes from Guru, except take away the G and replace with a J since his name is Jonathan. Stot Juru started recording sax to records with producers all over. Stot Juru’s favorite/closest producer is Brandon “Sam King” Anderson, (based in Atlanta). Stot Juru decided to push further. So he then fully produced his whole album of original songs. His 1st album is called “Universal Saxifications”.

Stot Juru's  2nd Album was released on August 1st of 2019, after a long time from the 1st album. His 3rd Album was released on February 12th of 2021. Stay tuned......
